About Little Alchemy 2

Little Alchemy 2 is the polished sequel to the game that started the element-mixing genre in the browser. You begin with four elements. Drag one onto another and, if the pair makes sense, a new item appears in your library: earth and water make mud, fire and water make steam, and so on. From those the tree branches out into plants, animals, tools, weather, myths and eventually things like the internet and philosophy.

The sequel's big addition is the encyclopedia. Every item you discover gets a short, often funny description and a list of what it can be made from, which turns the game from guessing into reading. There are 720 items in the base game and the last few are famously hard to reach.

How to Play Little Alchemy 2

1. Drag an element from the right-hand library onto the workspace.
2. Drop a second element onto it. A valid pair produces a new item.
3. New items are added to the library and can be used in further combinations.
4. Open the encyclopedia entry for an item to see what it is made of and what it makes.

• Touch: drag with a finger, tap an item in the library to read about it.
• Search box: type to filter the library.

Tips and Tricks

• Combine every new item with the four basics first. Most of the early tree comes from that.
• The same item can often be combined with itself: earth plus earth makes land, land plus land makes a continent.
• When you are stuck, the encyclopedia hint system points at an item you can still make.
• Items that appear greyed in the library are final and cannot combine further, so do not waste time on them.
