Block Sandbox is a 2D mining and building game: dig through dirt and stone, gather materials, craft tools and weapons, and shape the world however you like.

About Block Sandbox

Block Sandbox is a side-on world of blocks in the style of Terraria. You start with basic tools on the surface and dig down through soil, stone and ore, collecting everything you break. Materials become better tools, weapons and building blocks, and the world is yours to reshape: dig caves, build a house, flood a pit or blow a hole through a hillside.

There is no fixed goal. The fun is in exploration and in the toolbar of increasingly silly equipment, from pickaxes to rocket launchers.

How to Play Block Sandbox

Move with the arrow keys or on-screen buttons.
Select a tool from the top bar and click or tap blocks to mine or place.
Collect materials to unlock better tools.
Build, dig and explore with no time limit.

Controls

Arrow keys or WASD: move and jump.
Mouse or touch: aim and use the selected tool.
Number keys or the top bar: switch tools.

Tips and Tricks

Dig straight down early to find stone and ore, then come back up to build.
Water flows. Dig a channel before you break into a pool or your mine floods.
Explosives are fun but they destroy the loot with the block. Mine valuables by hand.
The world saves in the browser, so build something worth coming back to.
